(ThyBlackMan.com) Last month, The State Of California put a massive dagger into the corruptive exploitative regime of The NCAA when they announced that they signed “Bill #206” known as “The Fair Pay To Play Act” that will finally allow college athletes especially the black athletes who generate the most money for these big universities in “The Power 5” conferences in college football and college basketball.

When The NCAA realized that California gave them a massive dagger to the heart with the new bill, they finally decided to fold and allow college athletes and especially black athletes to profit off of the use of their name, image, and likeness. This is definitely a huge win for black athletes who no longer have to worry about getting punished by The NCAA for taking money from relatives, friends, or even the agents because for decades, The NCAA was allowed to get away with all sorts of egregious violations against black athletes not just athletically, but also academically.

Of course when news about this broke out, numerous former college athletes like Tim Tebow and certified sambos like Stephen A. Smith immediately spoke out against this new bill saying that “it will erode the integrity of college sports” when in reality it’s far from the truth. There were also well known black athletes like LeBron James and non well known black people like myself that were excited about the bill being signed in California.

Over the past few years years, I have written numerous articles in which I was critical of The NCAA and their vicious exploitation of college athletes especially the black ones. The black athletes are the biggest cash cows for The NCAA because they bring in millions  of dollars for “The Power 5” conferences and billions each year for The NCAA. The College Football Playoff since its inception in 2014 make over $500 million a year and the NCAA since 2013-2014 have made over a $1 billion a year from March Madness.

The black athletes were the main victims of The NCAA’s tyranny over them for decades and now when the new compensation rules are enacted in January 2021, they will finally be able to provide for their families from being compensated off the use of their name, image, and likeness. This is definitely a huge win for black athletes because when they appear either playing a big game on CBS or ESPN let alone appearing for a commercial or an ad, they’ll finally be able to get compensated for it.

The Conclusion – Even though these recent turn of events are a huge win for the black athletes that generate the most money for “The Power 5” conferences in college football and college basketball, there’s still work to be done to ensure genuine compensation for black athletes.
